|by: Matt Kamalsky - Director of Operations
|July 16, 2007
|Game One: Washington Wizards 79, Milwaukee Bucks 67
17 Points, 6 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 1 Blocks, 3 Turnovers, 3 Fouls, 7-11 FG, 1-2 3FG, 2-2 FT
-Hall played exceptionally today, scoring in a variety of ways on his way to an impressive offensive performance.
-Hall looked very controlled offensively, using floaters, up-and-unders, and ball fakes to score consistently throughout the game.
-Hall hit quite a few tough shots, including a couple of and-one midrange jumpers.
-The Wizards clearly have interest in Hall at this point in time, having made a qualifying offer for him. Multiple European teams have tried to sign him from what weíve been told, but Hall is staying put for now.
18 Points, 4 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 1 Steal, 3 Turnovers, 2 Fouls, 5-12 FG, 0-2 3FG, 8-12 FT
-McGuire was very active offensively all game, getting into the lane and using his body to create scoring opportunities.
-McGuire converted on a handful of shots with contact, and has proven to be more than capable of getting to the line on this level. He is capable of finishing with both hands, and elevates very well off of jump stops.
-McGuire missed the one outside shot he took, and will no doubt be working on that part f his game for the future. Adding a consistent pull-up jumper from mid-range to his arsenal would benefit him.
2 Points, 4 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 1 Steal, 3 Turnovers, 4 Fouls, 1-6 FG
-Visser had a tough game from the field today, and had a hard time making an impact overall.
-Visserís floor game is a bit mechanical, as his moves look a little robotic and he struggles to dribble with his left hand when going full speed to the rim.
-Visser did a decent job defensively, and gets a hand in his manís face constantly, but he could improve his timing.
12 Points, 2 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 0 Turnovers, 2 Fouls, 5-5 FG, 2-2 FT
-Miles played a smart game today, utilizing his matchup against Randy Livingston to put up numbers on the offensive end.
-Miles used his quickness advantage over Livingston to get into the paint at will, and did a very good job of finish in traffic. Miles has good touch with both hands, and put that to use throughout this contest.
-Miles also did a good job of distributing the ball, as he always does. Defensively, Miles didnít give up anything easy, and kept his man out of the lane.
11 Points, 1 Assist, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 3 Turnovers, 1 Foul, 4-9 FG, 3-3 FT
-Young was significantly less aggressive shooting the ball today than he has been in the past few contests, but still did a solid job on the offensive end.
-Young has a lot tools to be a good offensive player, but hasnít been able to find his stroke consistently.
-Young ran the point better than he did yesterday, but didnít create a lot of opportunities for his teammates. He has tunnel vision to the rim at times, passing up opportunities for teammates.
8 Points, 5 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 1 Steal, 5 Turnover, 1 Foul, 3-8 FG, 2-2 FT
-Markota didnít have a great game, but wasnít a slouch either.
-Markota has poor rotation on his jump shot, and this limits his consistency.
-Markota made some bad passes on the offensive end, including one especially poor pass coming after he passed up a wide open look.
-Markota passes relatively well for big man, but occasionally gets a little overaggressive forcing teammates to make plays on his bad passes.
11 Points, 7 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 Turnover, 3 Fouls, 4-9 FG, 1-3 3FG, 2-2 FT
-Storey put in a good game of work, looking especially impressive when shooting the ball from the perimeter.
-Storeyís form is a thing of beauty at times, but he doesnít always shoot the ball with the same form. Given time, his shot is very consistent, but he usually does have that much time or space.
-Storey worked hard on the glass, and has above average athleticism.
7 Points, 3 Rebounds, 2 Blocks, 3 Turnovers, 5 Fouls, 2-6 FG, 3-5 FT
-Felixís statline doesnít reflect how well he played today.
-Felix showed a number of nice moves, including a deep fadeaway jumper, a spin move, and a drop stop.
-Felix was good on the defensive end, showing good bounce his feet are set and above average timing.
10 Points, 3 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 Turnover, 1 Foul, 3-7 FG, 4-6 FT
-Sessions had a quiet game today, which has been the story of his time in Vegas.
-Sessions has a nice stroke, and shot the ball relatively well from the perimeter.
-Sessions wonít surprise anyone with his quickness, but runs the floor hard enough to get occasional looks from inside. He is also able to find his teammates well, and makes good decisions on the fly.
12 Points, 4 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 3 Turnovers, 5 Fouls, 4-12 FG, 1-2 3FG, 3-3 FT
-Noel played a decent game today, but wasnít as good as he was in his debut.
-Noelís jump shot doesnít have the best form, but he still possesses solid consistency from the perimeter.
-Noel finished well around the rim, and is the kind of athlete that can do that consistently on any level.
11 Points, 2 Rebounds, 5 Turnovers, 8 Fouls, 5-5 FG, 1-2 FT
-Nelson looked good today, especially when he received the ball around the rim.
-Nelson has good body control for a player his size, and is able to finish from a number of angles.
-Nelson knows he isnít going to out jump many defenders, so he tends to use the rim to protect the ball by taking reverse layups.
-Nelson isnít quick enough to be a great defender, and will need to learn how to position himself better to cut down on fouls.
Game Two: New York Knicks , Denver Nuggets
9 Points, 7 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 1 Block, 1 Steal, 1 Turnover, 1 Foul, 3-8 FG, 3-4 FT
-Balkman didnít play as well as he did yesterday, but still came through with a strong performance.
-Balkman had another strong game on the glass, getting after every possible miss.
-Balkman does a very good job of getting his teammates open looks, and draws a crowd every time he drives towards the rim.
15 Points, 10 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 3 Blocks, 1 Turnover, 3 Fouls, 6-14 FG, 0-1 3FG, 3-3 FT
-Chandler had a quality game today, and produced one rather interesting stat.
-Chandler missed a number of 7-10 footers today, but rebounded three of his own misses for baskets.
-Chandler has a great mid range game already, and it shows in every game he plays.
10 Points, 10 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 2 Blocks, 4 Turnovers, 5 Fouls, 4-5 FG, 2-4 FT
-Morris played a highly efficient game today, finishing well around the basket and proving dominant on the glass.
-Morris has added quite a bit of weight to his frame of the last season and a half, and he is utilizing it well down low.
-Morris showed nice range on a catch and shoot, knocking one down from 15 feet, and finished a nice jump stop in the paint with great touch.
23 Points, 4 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 1 Turnover, 4 Fouls, 9-16 FG, 2-5 3FG, 3-4 FT
-Nichols played well today, and made it a point to get himself going off the dribble.
-Nichols hit a few shots from the perimeter, and used that to force his defender to play him close. Subsequently, Nichols got into the lane well and had a pretty easy time finishing around the rim.
-Nichols has been impressive all week, and has definitely earned a spot somewhere in the NBA.
24 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 3 Turnovers, 6 Fouls, 6-12 FG, 3-6 3FG, 9-9 FT
-Robinson, the MOP of the Summer League, played a very good game overall
-Robinson showed very good range on his jumper, and can get is shot off any time he wants on this level.
-Robinson had a couple of rebounds including one especially impressive one that he grabbed well above the rim at full extension in a crowd of defenders.
16 Points, 5 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 1 Block, 1 Turnover, 5-10 FG, 6-7 FT
-Greene did a very solid job this game, doing most his damage in the fourth quarter.
-Greene doesnít have tremendous consistency from deep, but possesses a pretty good midrange jumper.
-Greene makes a lot of hustle plays, and is very much a lunchpail type of player.
13 Points, 3 Rebounds, 1 Steal, 2 Turnovers, 1 Foul, 5-11 FG, 2-3 3FG, 1-2 FT
-Wilmont worked hard today, and came away with an above average statline.
-Wilmont hasnít played too many minutes here in Vegas, but showed some solid range on his jumper today.
-Wilmont is aggressive from the midrange, but doesnít always come away with positive results. He played a bit selfish at times, passing up wide open teammates for contested looks of his own.
10 Points, 4 Assists, 1 Steal, 3 Turnovers, 4-6 FG, 1-2 3FG, 1-4 FT
-Blalock was extremely steady today, and proved to be a handful out on the perimeter.
-Blalock doesnít have the most consistent form, but hits the majority of his shots when given time.

-Wafer was hitting shots off the dribble, off of the catch, and from inside the paint.
-Wafer showed tremendous range, and was simply unbelievable from the outside late in the game. Wafer hit a handful of shots with a hand in his face, and was pretty much unstoppable.
Game Three: Minnesota Timberwolves 84, Phoenix Suns 81
32 Points, 4 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 4 Turnovers, 4 Fouls, 8-16 FG, 1-3 3FG, 15-19 FT
-McCants poured in 30 points in the first half, but managed to score only 2 points the rest of the game.
-McCants dominated Alando Tucker off of flex cuts, and utilized his size advantage to bully Tucker down low.
-McCants didnít really get very many opportunities in the second half, but displayed good range and solid shooting in the first.
12 Points, 5 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 1 Steal, 5 Turnovers, 7 Fouls, 4-14 FG, 3-7 3FG, 1-3 FT
-Foye played a decent game today, but could have been more efficient from the field.

5 Points, 10 Rebounds, 7 Assists, 1 Steal, 1 Block, 5 Turnovers, 2 Fouls, 1-5 FG, 3-4 FT

12 Points, 6 Rebounds, 7 Assists, 2 Steals, 10 Turnovers, 5 Fouls, 3-13 FG, 2-7 3FG, 4-6 FT
