Luke Jackson Joins Toronto on 10 Day Contract
Mar 24, 2007, 12:05 am
Idaho Stampede Small Forward Luke Jackson has been called up to the Toronto Raptors on a 10 day contract. He has averaged 14.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists for the Stampede this season, while shooting 48.6% from behind the three point line. This is the second call-up of the season for Jackson, who was signed to a 10 day contract by the Clippers on January 8th.

As the 10th overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft, Jackson struggled through injuries during his first couple seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers. After only 46 appearances during two seasons, he was traded to the Boston Celtics during the 2006 pre-season. After failing to make it out of training camp with Boston, Jackson joined the Idaho, where he has played 23 games this season.

March has been the strongest month for NBA call-ups in the past, and Jackson’s signing will mark the 17th call-up of the season. Towards the end of the season, look for more call-ups to come from teams that are eliminated from the NBA playoff race. Last season, there were 8 D-League players added to NBA teams on or after March 15th.
