DJ Strawberry, Ekene Ibekwe Testing the Waters

A source close to the situation informed DraftExpress exclusively today that two Maryland juniors, 6-5 guard D.J. Strawberry and 6-9 power forward Ekene Ibekwe, will both be announcing soon that they are entering the NBA draft.

Both players are “testing the waters” at this point without hiring agents.

Even though neither is considered a great draft prospect coming off very average seasons, both Strawberry and Ibekwe are juniors, meaning this move shouldn’t come as a huge shock considering they have their one “use it or lose it” draft card to burn. Strawberry averaged 10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 turnovers as Maryland’s very inconsistent point guard this season. Ibewke improved in many facets and averaged 11 points and 6.6 rebounds, but also suffered from an up and down year.
