Are you sure?. For the moment he's not in this season's U-16 Spanish NT: http://www.feb.es/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=10&tabid=17

Actually, I think the guy was born in Montenegro and is yet to make a decission.

Thats even better (then i hope montenegrin federation will not sleep. And i know they are not sleeping. If he is from Montenegro, then he will have to make a decison. But the montenegrin federation found also montenegrins in Italy and so on.)The last time i checked the site(of the spanish federation) he was on the list, together with Nikola Rakocevic. I searched for more information about him in the net to find out his birthplace but i found nothing.

Tell me if you find out if he was born in Montenegro.

No it is age 89 or younger.

I have also one question about the MVP Jayson Granger. Is he american and is there any chance that he will play for Spain. Or is he from England?

I find it out now. Both Nikola Mirotic and Nikola Rakocevic are from Montenegro. They played in Dzoker Podgorica a club which is only working with young players and was foundet by Jadran Vujacic which played in Partizan togehter with Divac, Djordjevic and Danilovic.

He's from Uruguay.

He's a combo-guard, very mature physically. He has some nice skills, he can pass the ball, he can shoot, he's an accurate dribbler, but overall I don't think he's that talented, just much more mature and physically developed than anybody else. He might be able to end up playing in the ACB League, but I don't expect a great impact.

Where's Bogan Bogdanovic if it's 1989?

Bojan Bogdanovic played most of the season in LEB-2, just as Pablo Aguilar, Diego Gerbaudo or I think shooter Parejo too. They chose the stick with their regular junior team, so Real Madrid was very decimated (they basically missed the entire starting five). With all their pieces, they are significantly better than the champion Barcelona.

Overall you could say Spain not only has the best mens competition but also the best youth competitions.

That's interesting considering no Spanish team even made a splash in the l'hospitalet, Victor Rho, or Euroleague Junior Final Four. They without a doubt produce solid NBA prospects, but as to actually youth "competition" I dont think they leade Europe. Their's much more talent in Northwestern Europe and southern europe.

There was no Spanish team in the Euroleague Final Four Junior Tournament, so they could hardly make any splash. In Rho there only was a very decimated Real Madrid (at least without Bogdanovic and Aguilar).

But now that you mention the L'Hospitalet Tournament, CSKA ranked last this year (behind Real Madrid, Pamesa Valencia, F.C.Barcelona, L'Hospitalet, Unicaja Malaga, Joventut, Caja San Fernando and Estudiantes) and third in the Euroleague tournament. There you have a "splash".

Given the incredible amount of imports in Spain, there's no possible competition. I know it's not fair, but that's how things work right now. Spain might not have a dominating single team (even if Real Madrid is close to the top and Joventut might be able to dominate with Ricky Rubio), but the level overall is stronger than in any other country.

Thanks Genjuro. But i am still asking me how a player from Uruguay get such a name Jayson Granger.

And that´s why i also think that spain has the best competion there too. A lot of players from whole europe and also a lot of soutamerica play in the teams.

He's a son of a former US player that went to Uruguay to play basketball and even played for their National Team.

Now it is clear for me.

Did you heard about the player Youssoupha Mbao from Senegal`? He is playing for Gran Canaria and is born 16.4.1990. 7-1 ft center at the moment. Can still grow.

Sure. I might feature him relatively soon in an article devoted to the Spanish U-20 Circuit.

That´s something i like by the spanish clubs. They have the money for good players and also invest into talents.

If you have the possibility to write something about:
Henk Norel
Bas Hogetoorn
Kevin van Wijk

I would be mightily interested!

Now it is official. Nikola Mirotic will play for the montenegrin U18 this summer. If he can use his full potential he will be a great player in the future.

I think the U20 and U18 of Montenegro has good chances to qualify for Divison A this summer.

The coach of the U18 Miodrag Kadija today said that Mirotic is not on the roster for the U18, because he is still a cadet and he will not to take players away from the U16. The only problem here is that Djordje Pavicevic didn´t call Mirotic into the U16. Perhaps he will do it now.

What do you think about Ljubo Jovanovic? Who will Nenad Zivcevic play for..Serbia?

I never saw Jovanovic play. I only know that he is a Center and 207cm long. He was the best player of the 2nd team of Buducnost this year and will be one of the 2 centers in the U20 squad for Montenegro this year. Yes Zivcevic decide to play for Serbia, but he was not called into the roster.

Are you sure Jovanovic is a true center? All i know is he was in Dallas last year with the u20 team before he got cut. He looked pretty think for 6'9/6'10 so it seems hard he could play the 5 position.

When you say Zivevic was not called into the roster, you mean the Senior NT roster right? As in he will most likely still play for u20?

When do you think u20 roster will be released and when can they start training since so many of them are still in playoffs and the u20 starts in early june.

The U20 roster is released. You can see it on the site of fiba europe, when you go on youth competition and then on the U20 site and klick on Serbia. There was no Zivcevic. He is nothing special. No good talent.

Yes i am sure about Jovanovic.

What about Milan Jaros? 7 foot 1991 Gran Canaria

I have simply answer. He is my cousin. We were born in the same city in Czech republic, but I m older.
His family is great! His mum was in prison in 90´s and his father doesn´t work and owe my mum more than 3500 euros (it is not small money in my country).
And Milan, when he is at home, he lives with his father in disintegrating house.
So basketball is only chance for him to have good education and better life. Not more. His parents only sold him to Spain, because they don´t want to care of him.
It looks like story from east, but our country is advanced, only people like Jaros´s family show something bad and strange about rank of life in my country.
I havenť any relationship to Milan, but I hope, that he will be better than his father, who threaten with physic liquidation to me.
