could be a future late first round pick to undrdafted guy down the road.

he is strong and skilled, good low post scorer that knows how to draw fouls (struggles to finish after contact for and 1's), good passer, plays hard, high basketball IQ, not athletic, not a good defender (no shotblocking ability), due to the fact that his game relies alot on his strength because of his lack of athleticism, quickness, and being undersized he may never be a great NBA player but a player that stays overseas and is a star. it is still too early to tell though.

It always interests me what route overseas players follow, some get drafted very high perhaps too high like Darko and Sitka but others like Dirk, Gasol and potentially Bargnani have become top players at Franchise or potential All Star level. Other guys like Navarro and Scola have declared been drafted low and then made their name overseas and in International tournaments before moving to the NBA to their original drafted team or when their rights are traded on.

As with the Kosta Perovic situation actually being drafted in the 2nd round gives the team more freedom to bring a player over as they can pay him an increased salary to cover buyouts etc than a play like say Tiago Splitter who went late first round and thus when he comes over goes on the salary appropriate for his draft position for the year he comes over. Thus you see Splitter limited to a salary of under a $1 million per season and the Spurs only allowed to contribute $500,000 towards his buyout whilst Perovic can have a nominal salary of $1.75 million per season of which maybe well over $1 million goes to his existing team thus enabling him to come over sooner.

Macvan will probably test the draft waters either next year or 2009 and again with his likely draft position being late first round or early 2nd round he can then remain overseas for a few years and build up his reputation in Europe before coming over a few years down the line. Having to sit on an NBA bench for a couple years or going to the D-League would be less use to him than honing his skills in Europe.
