I have had Williams penciled in at the 8th spot with Houston for some time, and I still feel that Houston is the best fit for him. He could do alot of good on various NBA teams, but he should make a sudden impact playing along side Ming, and playing off of T-Mac. He is a rebounding machine and D force. He could get alot of weak-side boards playing along Ming. I still feel this is a great spot for him to be picked, and a great situation for him 2 blossom as a rebounding bruiser.

I think anywhere he won't be expected for scoring would be the best for him, and Houston has enough scoring already.

He is a very solid scorer though...

I think he is a solid college post scorer but I have doubts that he'll be a consistent scorer as a pro.

Underrated.Although his offense game is very limited i believe that he will be a solid scorer, 18ppg at 1.65pps last year...with his enormous strength he will get enough chances for easy points even in the NBA, perfect fit for the Sonics if he's still available.

His 18 a game in college (with Redick, mind you) means that he is more than a clean up college post man. He will get points in the pros. Just wait.

He will clean up on the boards, and be left open for easy dunks with the presence of Mac n Ming if he goes at #8. Seattle could use him, as could many teams lacking a dominant and effective low post player, such as the Lakers, Hawks, and Nets, but chances are that he won't slide past the 8th pick. He will be most successful used next 2 a dominant center, rather than used as a main low post option.

I think you all make very good points. I think he will be a productive player- as a 2nd or 3rd option on offense. Houston would be ideal.
However, I don't think he fits well with the Sonics. They are bringing along 2 young centers and Wilcox and Collison at the four. The Sonics need a g/f type who can score to backup Allen and Lewis.

Williams is a very hard worker, who is tough-minded and strong. He will have an immediate impact on the boards and will eventually become a 12-15 ppg scorer.

Hah! The Hawks are going to be stupid asses for another draft and select yet another PF? No way.

I think S.Williams is going to have a better rookie year than Redick

I just don't see redick in the nba.
He like k.korver just a shooter

There will be better prospects available then S. Williams for the 5th pick, but it wouldn't be as stupid of a move as you think Arti. I wouldn't draft him over a hand full of players that will be available when the Hawks pick, but none the less, the Hawks only true PF's are Harrington, which is expected to sign else where, and Zaza, which is a PF playing center. Zaza is their best rebounder, and will never be as good at any point in his career as S.Williams will be his rookie season. It would be a smarter pick for them if they took Marcus Williams with the 5th pick, but it wouldn't be that stupid if they took S.Williams, due to the fact that they lack low post players. productive ones at that. And yes i expect him to have a better rookie season than reddick as well. tho reddick most likely won't struggle all season long, he also won't have a Chris Paul type of rookie year. Not even a Felton type of 1st year, at least the Felton towards the end of the season.
