Is he really a bad defender?

He's not that bad in Europe, but he would likely suffer in the NBA because he doesn't have the best physical tools and he's not one of those super-intense guys.

What happened to this kid?
He was being rated a first round talent not long ago and now is in serious risk of not even being drafted.
Does he have game? His stats are unimpressive.
What attitude does he have? good feel for the game?
I've never seen him play.

The problem with Veremeenko is that two years ago he was already as good (if not better) as he's right now. Check his profile: last season we were saying that he was already a mature player with little room for improvement. This certainly hurts his stock.
Besides, this season he's spending more time in the paint, where he can't take advantage of his quickness and mid-range shooting, while he physically suffers because of his thin built.
Also, he's a cold-blooded guy. It's not that he doesn't care, but neither he's awfully intense. He does his work, and that's it.

does anyone know if he is going to come over to the Wizards for the 07-08 season?

as i said in another thread today the wizards are at least bringing him over for summer league this summer to see what they want to do with him. so i think there is a possibility of him being on their roster in 2007-08

i defiently think he can play in the NBA, even though it is not a lock he could become a bust, but with the Wizards next year depends on some things. He is a combo forward that last year was better suited at PF. He would be a 4th PF on the team behind Jamison, Pecherov, and Songolia so I don't know if they would bring him over to do that. Now if he has improved his ballhandling in the last year and his perimeter defense to go along with his good jumper (lacks consistency from 3) and athleticism that would allow him to play SF I defiently think there could be a spot for him on the team. So, it just all depends on what position the Wizards project him at during the summer on if he will make the team or not in 2007-08.

This kid has some upside, he could end up better than Songaila.
I just don't think it would be a good idea to bring him this offseason as the team would be stuck with Pecherov, Blatche and him, all developing and not contributing that much.
