Damn, this guy was HORRIBLE early this season (mainly in that European Junior Tournament), but he is really ON FIRE right now.

His numbers in the last 9 games:

His TO's numbers still very high, but 8.3 apg is really impressive to european standarts.

I'm personally extremely excited about his late playing. I want to see him in playoffs, see what he's capable of doing there.

I said somewhere else that this guy is probably the most talented draft prospect inch by inch (in terms of skills and mind). I'm still serious concerned about his shooting, though, but also about his defense if he's really considering playing next year in the NBA.

I've never seen him play but how bad is his perimeter shot. Is he a better shooter than Rajon rondo.

Overall he is a decent shooter, but some days he can hit 4 3pointers and the next miss 5. It seems he has lost confidence on his shot this season.
He must improve his defense a lot. If he can do it, he will be playing good minutes in the NBA maybe in two years.

Hi!! I´m from Spain and i can tell u that Sergio Rodriguez is a very talented player. He´s very quick and has a good ballhandling. Also he´s a great shooter. If i have to compare him with a player of the NBA ,Steve Nash would fit well. The team that pick him on this draft will take a nice decision.

i like sergio i could see him going in any many of places as high as late lottery to second round. i think he will end up in nj though with the second of their two first rounders #23. they could keep him overseas or they could bring him over but they do need some pg help jason kidd is getting older and rodriguez is still very young and has a nice upside. i see him being a solid nba starter nothing more nothing less.

El base canario está incluido entre los candidatos a entrar en el draft de la NBA y esta experiencia será una toma de contacto para ver sus posibilidades de jugar en la liga americana el próximo año.
Madrid, 26 may. 2006 (EFE).- El internacional español Sergio Rodríguez, base del Estudiantes, que hace unas semanas se declaró elegible en el 'draft' (sorteo universitario) de la NBA (la Liga Profesional estadounidense), se marcha mañana a los Estados Unidos para entrenarse con varios equipos de la competición norteamericana.

El canario, que el próximo 12 de junio cumplirá 20 años, viaja en primer lugar a Phoenix vía Chicago y ya tiene confirmados dos encuentros, uno con los Bulls y otro con los Suns, pero no serán los únicos.

La agenda del viaje prevé entrenamientos con otros dos o tres equipos más. La lista incluye, aunque todavía no están confirmadas, sesiones de trabajo con los Celtics, en Boston, y con los Grizzlies, el equipo de Pau Gasol, en Memphis.

Rodríguez da así el primer paso de su posible aventura en la NBA, que ha sido autorizada por el Estudiantes, su actual club. La entidad del Ramiro de Maeztu ha dado permiso al jugador para que se desplace y se entrene puesto que es una gran oportunidad para la carrera profesional del internacional español y otra etapa en su progresión.

"Voy Con mucho ánimo, con mucha ilusión. Es una oportunidad y quiero ver lo qué ocurre. Todavía no hay nada decidido. Voy a ver cómo salen las cosas", señaló a EFE Rodríguez.

El base aclaró que, en cualquier caso, jugar en la NBA "no es una obsesión" y que este primer viaje está dirigido "a probar y a ver la dinámica que hay, porque las cosas cambian de una semana para otra, pero hay ir paso a paso y estar centrado en el día".

"Los últimos dos meses me he sentido cómodo jugando, pero en la eliminatoria contra Unicaja no se ha podido hacer nada. El 3-0 se me queda clavado", comentó a EFE el jugador colegial, que también dejó clara su posición respecto a la selección nacional y el próximo Mundial 2006: "Me encantaría ir a Japón".

Could Sergio end up at the 7th pick, to the Celtics?

I'd say he is definetelly lottery material, but is he on par with Roy, Shelden and O'Bryant? He makes more sense than these guys.

no sergio wont go any higher than late lottery. it would be a big suprise if he went before 13. with that being said a lot of people think he may still pull out of the draft and wait anothe year since he is still so inconsistent and would benefit by staying over seas another year

if the DE mock draft is based on team needs than why does it have sergio going to the pacers who had too many point guards last season and not enough minutes for tinsley, saras and johnson?

Sergio Rodriguez has confirmed that he'll stay in 2006 Draft. The report tells that he did a good job in workouts. Rodriguez believes that he has a good shot to be selected in the first round.

El jugador de Adecco Estudiantes Sergio Rodríguez ha decidido en la tarde de hoy que se presentará el próximo día 28 de Junio al `Draft´ de la NBA y emprender de esta manera la aventura en la mejor liga del mundo. El plazo finaliza esta misma noche a las 00:00 horas, pero el jugador tinerfeño ya le ha confirmado a la NBA su presencia en la próxima elección del `Draft´.

Sergio Rodríguez se ha mostrado en todo momento contento por la decisión adoptada y muy ilusionado ya que “me presento porque creo que hay posibilidades de salir en primera ronda y porque es muy buena oportunidad para mi” declaró el estudiantil. El excelente trabajo de Sergio Rodríguez en los `workouts´ durante las dos semanas en las que estuvo entrenando para varias franquicias de la NBA le han llevado a tomar dicha decisión.
