This kid is real deal. I`ll write profile on him soon.

Very agressive and capable defender, nice athlete, good slashed, accurate from mid-range....court vision not the greatest, but he is quiet smart and controls the tempo of the game.....first rounder in the making.

He totally outplayed Dean Oliver in the first quarter, almost unstopable from pick&roll and as ussuall made some clutch shots at the end of the game... I was a bit surprised since he commited quite some stupid turnovers that a far less talented player would be ashamed of. He was double teamed, with Zadar's best defender (Juby Johnson) constantly close on him and still managed to score 16 in the second half of the game... although those 2-3 unnecesarry turnovers ruined his overall performance a bit...
the progress he is making in the last 2 years is unbelievable. He played for Iliria Ljubljana in Slovenian second division, jumped to Slovan in Adriatic league next year where he prooved to be a good role player at the end of the season, was trusted to be first (and only) PG at the begining of this year, while for the last few weeks he is clearly the leader of the team...

Interesting email I got today...

Hey!

I was going through your international players rankings and came across prospects that will never even be good players in Europe let alone NBA. But you are missing the biggest slovenian prospect and probably the best young player in Adriatic league this season Goran Dragic of Slovan!

Looking at the list in 86 rankings he should definetely be upthere in the top 5. You are really doing a nice job of covering the prospect in whole Europe, that is why I am so suprised you don`t even have Dragič listed...

He is the best player on his team, playing PG position and is one of the best players in the Adriatic league this season, which says a lot.

His stats for this season: http://goodyear.adriaticbasket.com/igraci.php?id=614

You need to add a prospect like this to your list, cause I haven`t seen a PG with his skills play at this level for a very long time! He is something special!

In the end, I just want to compliment you on this site, it a great place for all NBA and draft fans!

well, if he could continue with the way he is progressing for the past 2 years, than he could definately make some nice career... just the progress he showed from the begining of the season is amazing, now he is actually the leader of 5th placed team in Adriatic league, 10th in MVP rankings and 8th best scorer... and unlike some other prospects at his age he isn't leaking in defense, getting playing time mainly due to what he could become in the future and he is the main reason that his club is the biggest surprise so far in the league...

Yes, that was my email. I was really surprised Gorans name wasn`t listed in the top european prospects rankings.

But I am glad to see the article about him today!

dragic is automatically eligible in 2008 and could be an early to late second rounder it looks like. he could max his potential out to become a borderline allstar.

he is athletic, slasher (can finish at rim or kick out), good midrange game, plays hard, good wingspan, lots of potential, needs to add weight, poor defender, needs to become a better half court player.

likely role in the nba is as an uptempo PG that can get in the paint and create things for himself of teammates.
