The hawks would do well to pick him up. he's an excellent combo guard prospect. I just don't know if he has the necessary skills to be an on the ball point. he can score, for certain, but that isn't enough from euros. he'll have to prove that he is a true combo guard who can play on or off the ball. i love his game, and I hope that he makes it.

akyol is a SG who plays hard, isn't very athletic, has PG skills, leader, good vision, not very quick, steaky shooter, not a good defender (does anticipate off ball somewhat well and get steals). he is a very good european prospect but i think he doesn't have the athletcism or quickness to do much in the nba.

Agree with coachjon, his speed isn`t good enough for the NBA. Unless he doesn`t become dead-eye shooter, he won`t have much succes there.

I agree. He looks like a great prospect to me. Indeed I'm pretty sure he will become a European star. But he simply lacks athleticism.

He does seem to have that "git-ur-done" quality about him, which IMO vaults him a level above the Planinic's and Vujacic's. I think he'll make it (and may become a good counterbalance to Salim Stoudamire), because he won't let the NBA beat him. Ceiling: Bob Sura?

He should keep playing in Europe for a few more years. If he wants to try his chance I think he should follows the way Ginobili did: Try to make people hear of your name in Europe and try it as a free agent

ginobili didnt sign on as a free agent he was drafted in the second round by the spurs.
