U-19 World Championship Review: Big Men
August 29, 2007
Players with the size and athleticism Skurdauskas enjoys are certainly intriguing enough to keep an eye on. Pranas displays a very nice physical profile, as he’s a long player, already rather strong, with a very good frame, and who gets off his feet very easily. Actually, he has developed his shot-blocking ability as one of his main strengths on the court. He enjoys very nice timing and the proper tools to get the job done, even if he wasn’t very prolific in the championship.

Skill wise, he’s a very limited player, who basically lives off the creativity of his teammates and his ability to crash the offensive board to get second chance points. He’s a nice player in pick-and-roll situations thanks to his athleticism and length, allowing him to easily finish around the rim. He can shoot jumpers with some range, but he’s still not a consistent player in this regard.

Douai Tournament, Gearing Up for Summer Competitions
June 9, 2007
Still, there was an interesting guy we hadn't seen since last summer: Pranas Skurdauskas. The starting Lithuanian center again showed his very nice combination of size and athleticism in a nicely-built body. He doesn't seem to have made great strides developing his offensive game, and basically stayed out of the main Lithuanian offensive stream. Still, in the last quarter he showed a couple of nice inside moves, taking his match-up to the low post to use his right-handed jumphook, which appears to now feature a softer touch. He also looked very solid from the free-throw line, feeding our hopes that he develops a reliable mid-range jumper.

However, the most intriguing part of his game revolved around his ability to block shots. He emerged as a serious intimidating presence displaying notable reactiveness to get off his feet, and excellent timing. He was credited with 4 blocked-shots.

U-18 European Championship Prospects: Centers
September 17, 2006
His teammate Pranas Skurdauskas delivered similar work. He is bigger (officially listed at 6-10, but actually looking about 6-11) and shows nice athleticism and an excellent body to work with. Not very skilled at this point, he did deliver some interesting moves near the basket that might turn out to become very useful in the future. Anyway, he primarily worked off the ball, talking advantage of the backcourt passing, although showing questionable hands. A nice defender, his rebounding production was terrific, particularly staying aggressive in the offensive glass. A guy to seriously keep under the radar.
