Help Wanted. We Are Hiring a Programmer and Web-Designer
Dec 29, 2015, 09:52 am
DraftExpress.com was established in 2003 as a free, publicly available basketball scouting service for fans worldwide. It has since become the industry leader in the field of NBA Draft analysis, being cited in all of the most prestigious and influential media outlets, and forming partnerships with some of the most popular websites on the internet. The DraftExpress team is present at every major tournament, camp, workout, Combine or other type of gathering featuring present or future NBA prospects, both in the US and internationally. No one covers international basketball, and FIBA youth and USA Basketball events in a more comprehensive manner.

Along with the public website, DraftExpress offers a subscription-based analytics service with over a dozen NBA teams as clients. If you are looking to eventually work for an NBA team or other professional sports organization, this could be your first step to that goal.

DraftExpress is looking for a part-time programmer/web-designer to work with our team to redesign our current site with a modern responsive design. Upon successful completion of this paid project, continued work in a part-time or full-time position could be available. Because we are a small company, future full time duties could include a wide-range of skills, including, but not limited to, website maintenance, new content creation, SQL optimization, and possibly graphic design.

Depending on your interests, there is quite a bit of leeway in terms of what the candidate might be asked to do down the road, whether on the technology, programming, video, social media or scouting side. If you are versatile, open-minded, and love basketball, you could find yourself doing many different, interesting things. For now, our main focus is on finding a programmer/web-designer to assist with our redesign.

Please visit the site before applying.

Relocation is not required. You should be ready and prepared to work from home like the entire DraftExpress team. Because of the nature of what we do (basketball never stops), you must be willing and able to work long, flexible hours including late nights (if based in North/South America), weekends, and holidays. The months in between basketball season (July to October) are slower and could provide for a great deal of flexibility with travel and vacations. If interested, opportunities to attend games and events, and network and interact, with industry personnel may be possible. Salary will be determined by the candidate's level of experience and role with DraftExpress.

• Proficiency with Javascript, AJAX
