HIGHLIGHTED GAMES

-OKLAHOMA STATE VS SYRACUSE. Syracuse just lost to Wichita State and has yet to win against a high quality opponent this year. Okie State is unbeaten and has a big win against Missouri State, so they are definitely a quality opponent. It should be a good game between on a neutral floor two potential pod teams who are looking to position themselves.

-LOUISVILLE VS ARIZONA . This is the second half of a doubleheader at Madison Square Garden. Louisville is just 2-1 with a loss to Dayton, but they are talented and definitely have the potential to be a very good team. They just need a statement win to account for their potential, and this would definitely be it. Arizona just defeated a very good Illinois team and has looked good in every game they’ve played since their season opener, so Louisville definitely has their hands full. Zona is also looking to make the pod system, so they have a lot on the line as well.

-TEXAS A&M AT LSU. LSU has a loss to a very good Wichita State team, but didn’t look all that good against a very mediocre Tulane team over the weekend. Both of these teams are considered potential pod teams, but this is the first really big test for either one. TAMU has beaten a bunch of cupcakes, but has looked good doing it. LSU’s has lost to a heavyweight and beaten a few other cupcakes, but hasn’t looked all that good. Still, good teams play better against quality opponents than they do against mediocre ones, so I think we’ll get to see the real LSU tonight.

-UNLV AT HAWAII. Hawaii, like they are most years, is tough to beat at home this year. They’re 4-3 against div1, are looking for another decent win, but so are there opponents. This is a game between two teams that don’t appear to be tournament caliber teams, but could be good enough to play their way into the picture.

-NEW MEXICO AT NEW MEXICO STATE. These two aren’t in the same conference, but they play each other home and home each year. New Mexico barely won the first one, and was blown out on their only other road game of the year, so even though they have an impressive record they have yet to look like a good team on the road. New Mexico State has a talented team, but has struggled in a few games early. Now would be a good time to snap out of it.

-LOYOLA, IL AT PURDUE. Loyola is has just two losses on the year and is one of the better teams in the Horizon League, but chances are they’ll be overmatched today. It’s a very interesting game considering the two schools are less than an hour apart, but it may not be all that exciting to watch if Purdue plays up to their potential. They have just one loss on the year as well and have looked like an NCAA Tournament team pretty much every other time out. This is a good RPI game for them because Loyola should win most of their games, so if they take care of business it should really help out Purdue.

RICHMOND AT SOUTH FLORIDA. USF is 4-0, but hasn’t played anyone yet. The jury is still out on them, but if they can beat a good defensive Richmond team, we’ll continue to pay attention to them.

-GONZAGA AT WASHINGTON STATE. Wazzu is just 7-1, but hasn’t been challenged yet so the fact that they even have one loss is an indicator that they aren’t a tournament caliber team yet. Gonzaga, on the other hand, is looking like a pod system team, and this win will give them regional bragging rights (which is something they’ve had for awhile) as well as sustain their resume. Wazzu plays good defense, but it probably isn’t good enough to stop Gonzaga. If Wazzu does pull this off though, it would give them a huge statement win and put them in the bracket picture for the time being.

BUY GAMES

-WOFFORD AT CLEMSON. Clemson will improve to 10-0 with a win.

-UMES AT GEORGE WASHINGTON. George Washington just defeated Virginia Tech to improve to 5-1. They should have little trouble improving to 6-1 tonight, but just like last year their wins are unimpressive.

-JAMES MADISON AT GEORGETOWN. Georgetown played their best game of the season against Duke this past weekend. Even though they lost, it was still the first time they’d looked like a good team all year. If they play like that tonight they will role over JMU.

-GARDNER WEBB AT GEORGIA. A win for Georgia gets them to 5-1. Gardner Webb’s next div1 win will be their first.

-CHATTANOOGA AT KENTUCKY. Kentucky played well in their last game, and could use a break. They’re getting it. A win gets them to 5-3.

-DELAWARE STATE AT MARQUETTE. Marquette needs to rebound from a shocking loss to North Dakota State. Delaware State is the best team in the MEAC, but if Marquette shows up (which they don’t always do) they have little chance of winning.

-CS FULLERTON AT UCLA. UCLA should have no trouble improving to 6-0 and remaining the #1 team in the nation.

-DETROIT AT XAVIER. Xavier improves to 7-1 with a win.
