Joel Embiid has been an extremely pleasant surprise for Kansas ten games into the season, ranking second overall in PER among freshmen, despite his significant lack of experience (read this excellent Jason King profile detailing his very unique background).

The Cameroonian 7-footer is posting 18.5 points per-40 minutes on terrific efficiency (69% 2P%), while adding 12.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.1 steals and 4.5 blocks.

Embiid's Kansas squad is still finding their way as a team, having lost three of their last five games, but still have plenty of time to come together with a challenging schedule in front of them the next three months.

Playing on some of the biggest platforms of college basketball thus far has given us ample opportunity to evaluate Embiid's very distinct strengths and weaknesses as a prospect, which we've done in the following video scouting report courtesy of Mike Schmitz.
